About Parks

As a child, I loved being creative, whether it was drawing or playing LEGOS. I attended a few art classes as a child, but it was not until high school that I realized how much I loved to paint. My art teacher, Steve Garner, recognized my passion for painting and helped me develop my style as an artist in my teen years.

I always viewed Art as a hobby, but as I prayed for direction in my college studies, I felt led to study Art. I graduated from Wofford College in 2018 with a major in Art History and a minor in Studio Art. In 2021, after working in the business & ministry worlds, I decided to focus on painting.

In 2023, after lots of prayer, discernment, and seeking council, I decided to transition and adjust painting to be more of lifelong hobby/side business. When my art making became my sole business, it took the joy and passion out of why I love to create. As a person who desires relationships and is energized by others, I have decided to place my vocational time investing in relationships through the financial world.

Today, I spend my time as a Financial Advisor at Schoen Capital Group of Raymond James, partnering alongside my incredible father, Craigen Schoen, who has been in the business for over 36 years. My life purpose is to cultivate an atmosphere where individuals can grow and embrace their potential, whether that be through helping clients achieve their financial goals, walking alongside a friend in their spiritual and life journey, or creating a piece of art that brings a space to life.

Family and friendships are key, and I am very grateful for my wife, Chandler Morris, who has been the biggest answer to prayer who supports me as I chase my dreams. I will continue to paint, and you will continue to see my love of sports and special moments with family and friends in my paintings. The dream is to have a studio at my home one day, where I can create and gather people, like you, together for future exhibitions and shows.

If you have questions or want to learn more about what is going on in my life, do not hesitate to send me an email or give me a call. It is the people, like you, that bring me life behind the work God has entrusted me with.

Grateful,

Parks Schoen

Artist Statement

As an artist, I specialize in painting athletes, people, and landscapes using acrylics. These three subjects are a good representation of my interests: I love both playing and watching sports, enjoy spending time with people, and experiencing God’s creation.

In my style, I am exploring the effect that color, line, and shape have through my brushwork to create an energizing composition. Through painting, I am led to a deeper understanding of God’s character as the ultimate artist. As I seek to reflect the Lord’s beauty, I hope to share a glimpse of His handiwork in my own creating.
